The history of Metzler’s Tile & Design

          In 1997 a company that had been established since 1966, “Tile City” expanded their operation to this location in Salem, Oregon.  I started my tile journey with them that very same year.

          A couple of years later we implemented a wholesale program with Tile City that is now called Port Decor. About five years later Tile City sent me on yet another journey to some of their California locations to help them run a bit smoother and more like the Salem location. I learned that I could accomplish this feat and that I wasn’t much of a California Girl.

          On June 15, 2004, I took over as owner of this location, and became one of Port Decor’s customers helping them to expand their wholesale division and to help me expand personally and professionally.

          The employee’s that I am blessed with are Travis, whom I originally hired in 2000, Mike who also worked for me a few years ago, and Jeff who just started with us in 2008 but has experience in the industry.

          Our motto is “We would rather explain the price of quality than apologize for something less.” We are dedicated to customer service and satisfaction. We look forward to the opportunity to work with you on your project.
